Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the Facilities/Maintenance and Manufacturing areas. Primary responsibilities include the safety, security, staffing and training of direct labor production personnel within those areas to meet customer demand and product quality requirements. You would also be in charge of maintaining the site’s cleanliness, compliance to the 5S program, leadership of the morning Flash meeting and continuous improvement initiatives to reach and sustain the highest level of operational excellence.

Ops Manager is responsible for

Safety/Security

  • Working with Security Sr. Manager (based in Nashua, NH) ensure associates adhere to security policies and procedures; support Secure Materials Control SOP/self-assessments as required and supporting on site security contractors
  • Accountable for follow up on assigned safety training to ensure associates understand how to comply with Safety practices.
  • Participate in 5S sustainment audits, Job Hazard Analysis through 4 E (Ergonomic, Energy, Environment and Exposure) Assessments.
  • Manage/Maintain OT Backup requirements.
  • Working with the EHS Specialist, accountable for the safe operation of the manufacturing and facilities area. This includes auditing the processes to ensure safe work practices are adhered to along with required PPE.
  • Initiate first report of for process or safety incidents, lead containment and preventative actions.

Quality

  • Audits production results and initiates corrective actions when nonconforming product is detected.
  • Utilize Visual Sustainment Audits as process confirmation from Standard Work events
  • Support completion of Internal Audits to ensure compliance with ISO standards
  • Establish a solid understanding of the processes and support systems to yield the required product quality and consistency
  • Working with the Quality Manager, accountable for monitoring the quality of production produced in each manufacturing area. This will include auditing of the process to insure Standard Work procedures are being followed by all associates.
  • Participate in Root Cause and Counter measures for quality or cost issues
  • Responsible to ensure nonconforming product is segregated according to established procedures.

Delivery

  • Ensure maintenance/TPM schedules are maintained for all critical equipment
  • Maintain proactive cross-function communication with Design and Research to ensure deliverables are met.
  • Responsible for overseeing facilities/maintenance department to ensure operational efficiency
  • Accountable for monitoring equipment and process output against target standards.
  • Knowledgeable about incoming receiving process and lead times to his/her operations and processing time to meet customers’ deliveries schedule.
  • Ability to troubleshoot process issues with associates and call support groups as needed.
  • Ability to adjust or recommend changes to associates assignments to keep process in production.
  • Responsible for creation and execution of Master production schedule for all areas to support PA and Currency. This includes, Micro-Optics Press, Label Converting, Prototyping/Tooling Manufacturing and sample making. Communicate schedules/risks.to stakeholders.

Cost

  • Evaluate, analyze and reduce production costs
  • Accurate counts and usage rates of raw materials or incoming product to be consumed by area of responsibility including MO production, Prototyping and Tooling Manufacturing and Sample making.
  • Knowledgeable of product inventory levels and all related raw materials and supplies involved in areas of operation. Communicate and manage supply chain risks.

Growth

  • Execute change management plan.
  • With support from Quality Manager, implement CBS Tools in Department participating in all relevant CBS activities.
  • Will be required to complete yearly reviews with associates.
  • Work with Department Leads to develop succession plans, develop 3x3 and conduct 1 on 1’s to ensure development plans are on track.
  • Ensure teams are meeting and exceeding expectations in utilization of CBS Tools.
  • Support Manufacturing Process Engineer in manufacturing initiatives
  • Support Product Authentication growth through capacity planning and management.

Qualifications :

  • Minimum 5 years Manufacturing experience with steadily increasing responsibility.
  • Minimum 1 year working in a continuous manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, extended hours and weekends, as dictated by the manufacturing schedule
  • BS required, Master's preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to learn and convey complex technical processes
  • Demonstrated analytical problem solving and troubleshooting ability
  • Must be proficient, or demonstrate ability to learn Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Working knowledge of Plant Applications, Active Factory, JDE., desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and maximize employee performance
  • Proven ability to direct, influence and lead employees with no direct authority
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens and will need to demonstrate Suitability for employment in a Position of Public Trust consistent with our U.S. Government contract requirements
  • Working knowledge and experience with an efficient and robust Quality Management System
