Basic Purpose


The Operations Manager reports to the Executive Director and assumes the duties of the Director when the Director is absent. The Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Agency that includes the preparation of Agency schedules, supervision of employees and assignments, preparation of reports, oversight of environmental and safety activities, support in the handling of visitors and companies interested in locating or in operating at the facility and the quality of all Agency programs.


Typical Functions


  • Responsible for compliance with all Federal and State regulations and policies applicable to the agency and the Air and Spaceport.
  • Ensure procedures are in place for maintaining high standards of safety and operations at the air and spaceport.
  • Promote Agency wide improvement efforts.
  • Responsible for day to day operational activities within the Agency.
  • Involvement for the day-to-day liaison with the clients of the Air and Spaceport.
  • Responsible for the development and coordination of the operational and logistical portions of the OSIDA Budget.
  • Assess Agency’s needs for equipment and maintain inventory.
  • Participation and involvement in the development of OSIDA’S ongoing developmental plans for the facility.
  • Responsible for the establishment and maintenance of the highest standards of safety and environmental regulation at the facility.

Education And Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical or management field. (Aviation background preferred.
  • Five to ten years of broad technical experience, with two years in the aerospace field, including airport operations.
  • Three to five years of management experience, with responsibilities for program and budget execution.
