Your role at Clorox:
The Operations Excellence Manager (OpEx Manager) will serve on the Reno leadership team and lead the manufacturing operations strategy. The OpEx Manager works towards ensuring safety, quality, customer service, cost, and production goals are attained. The role also provides the mentor and training required to guide Manufacturing Operations through the establishment and implementation of GME (TPM/Lean) principles at the Reno Manufacturing site to deliver efficiency, cost, and working capital improvements. This role is responsible for assessing and developing (in others) capabilities required to build sustainable improvement and set the desired pace of manufacturing excellence execution. The role will also work with the Site’s Manufacturing Leadership Team to ensure consistency and standardization of best practices and tools. The OpEx Manager will collaborate across boundaries and barriers, working with other departments and plants to identify, develop, and complete business strategies and opportunities while also evaluating talent and developing the next generation of operations leadership.
In this role, you will:
  • Owning the On-site loss and waste analysis drive PIPs (Process Improvement Projects) to eliminate failures.
  • Coach and mentor the entire site on integrating GME tools, including creating and maintaining the Area of Excellence structures and sequencing of applications.
  • Lead TRACC (Lean) implementation through Stage 3 to ensure: strategy alignment across business, customer-focused organization, process integration, team ownership, tiered problem-solving methodology, data integrity, and risk management.
  • Provide training and development at training events.
  • Work proactively to nurture an environment of trust, open communication, consistency, and accountability.
  • Implement ITFs (Implementation Task Forces) across the site.
  • Leads manufacturing operations to meet safety, quality, customer service, cost, and production goals.
  • Provide Reliability Engineering and Constraint management coaching and implementation.
  • Work with Plant Leadership, Engineering, Maintenance, and Support to implement and constantly update safety standards for the facility.
  • Model and hold the organization accountable for continuous improvement in all metrics and drive a people-centered production model to premier results.
  • Continuously increase interpersonal capacity by mentoring and developing managers and associates to increase efficiency and reduce waste and loss.
  • Will develop GME expertise in others and apply GME to company processes.
  • Drive and cultivate an empowered culture of opportunities, including developing people (exempt and non-exempt), driving best-in-class safety performance and programs, leading change, continuous improvement, and reducing operating costs.
  • Coach organization on systems, structure, goals, and priorities.
What we look for:
  • Experience in leading organizational change in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving, issue-resolution, and root-cause analysis skills
  • Proven track record to mentor and develop talent at all levels of the organization
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university is HIGHLY preferred
  • Shown ability to lead change, safety, and quality metrics
  • Ability to plan and implement multiple projects/activities
  • Interpersonal skills to optimally influence people to do new work
  • Experience in TPM or Lean implementation
  • Experience in the development and delivery of technical training
  • Experience Owning an organization in a TPM or Lean Environment
  • 6+ years or more in manufacturing with experience in varying leadership roles

Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.
–Zone A: $116,700 - $229,800
–Zone B: $107,000 - $210,700
–Zone C: $97,200 - $191,500

This job is also eligible for participation in Clorox’s incentive plans, subject to the terms of the applicable plan documents and policies.
