Background:
The Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Division of Unaccompanied Children's Operations (DUCO) program provides unaccompanied children (UC) with a safe and appropriate environment until they are transported to appropriate sponsors while their immigration cases proceed. ORR is an office within the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), which is a division of the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS). The ORR has identified a critical need for transportation services at a national level to transport UC in ORR facilities located throughout the United States.
Description of Work:
The Onsite coordinator will focus on administrative, safety, logistics, human resources, records management, finance, and the overall performance of the site and assists onsite supervisors with the day to day tasks.
- Integral role to ensure the timely communication of operations, challenges and changes is understood by management
- Reviews each UC’s packet and liaisons with site(s) to provide any incomplete or missing items prior to giving packet to the travel youth care worker(s)
- Capture lessons learned and maintain a running log of issues and their resolution
- Attends daily meetings with shelter and/or site personnel to deconflict issues, become aware of potential emergency or adhoc transportation needs, and answer questions.
- Responsible for maintaining open and continuous communications between the sites and Team Culmen.
- Contribute to communication plans
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally
- Ability to pass a drug testing; may be subject to random drug testing throughout employment
- Availability to support flexible schedules, depending on position, including 12-hour shifts
- HS Diploma or GED
- Proven excellent organizational and communication skills
- Proficient with all MS products
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Relevant work experience in a professional setting
- Empathetic and compassionate individual with the ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working in Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), or related organizations
- BA in Social Work, Education, or related field
