Position Summary
As a Graphic Designer, you will create still and animated graphics to support CNN, CNN International, and CNN Español network programming. This role is part of our “follow the sun” support model for our international networks, working during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is passionate about strong compositional and layout design and is eager to champion new methods and approaches to graphic storytelling. You will manage time and resources effectively to deliver a diverse scope of graphics that support daily news and network programming.
Responsibilities

• Serve the graphic needs of CNN Worldwide during overnight hours, following the “follow the sun” support model for international networks.
• Push the visual needle forward through strong compositional and layout design.
• Stay updated on current news events related to CNN networks and assess how graphics can effectively support them.
• Act as the point person for daily news requests, diplomatically making suggestions to lead clients toward more effective results.
• Support internal graphics, conceptualizations, and production needs for both networks, as well as feature content, specials, and sponsored shows.
• Exhibit exceptional branding skills and work within style guides.
• Respond quickly to graphic needs during breaking news for both networks, ensuring all necessary elements are promptly and accurately delivered.
• Apply CNN Design standards and style to all projects, considering editorial thinking when producing graphics for news content.
• Manage time and workload to consistently deliver effective graphics for daily news and network programming.

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree from an accredited art school with an emphasis in graphic design, motion design, or a related field (illustration, photography, industrial design, visual communications), or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent working knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator in Adobe Creative Suite. Motion design skills in After Effects and Cinema 4D are a plus.
• Willingness to work in a diverse, collaborative environment and assist and train other designers on various levels.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and collaborate with other teams.
• Excellent computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
