Medicar Driver Jobs

The opportunity:
Being a Medicar driver for LifeLine means more than transporting patients confined to wheelchairs. Its about giving another person the opportunity to increase their mobility. Being a Medicar driver about having our patients and clients feeling cared for. Above all its about giving others the care and attention that all people deserve. Our Medicar personnel are responsible for our highest source of call volume. They load, transport and unload wheelchair patients in a safe manner while adhering to patient care protocols and documenting appropriately.
Medicar responsibilities:

• Adherence to and compliance with HIPAA
• Report mechanical problems to Dispatch and Shift Supervisor
• Transport patients to and from medical facilities and/or home in a timely fashion
• Utilize GPS equipment to locate hospitals, medical facilities, and patient home
• Ensure wheelchair van is in good working order and kept clean
• Interact with patients, escorts, family members and facility staff in a respectful manner, always focusing on the best outcome for the patient
• Complete run sheet for each patient, fully recording each trip
• Follow all company policies

Medicar Driver requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75 LBS
• Consent to a criminal background check.
• A valid driver’s license with a good driving record
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Ability to push/pull a wheelchair that may be carrying at least 250 LBS.
• Must be available for a 3 day orientation
