Arctic Medical Laboratories: Gainesville Florida

We are a specialized high throughput genetics laboratory in Gainsville FL, seeking an experienced laboratory technician or more qualified individual. Ability to work productively with minimal supervision as part of a small onsite team is required. The successful candidate will work autonomously with remote supervision by the laboratory Director and the Chief Scientific Officer of the company.

Job overview

• Process samples in a high throughput genetics lab.
• Familiar with operation of the Agena Mass Array platform or the ThermoFisher Quant Studio platforms, while not required, is an asset.
• Enhance laboratory and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Willingness to perform simple administrative tasks, such as accessioning of new sample received by the laboratory into the LIMS system.
• Keep equipment operating by following Standard Operating Procedures, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supply records, performing preventive maintenance and reporting all necessary repairs.
• Support laboratory staff by maintaining maintenance logs and record books.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems as necessary to maintain sample flow.
• Complete projects by assisting project team and attending and participating in group and project meetings as required.

Qualifications and Experience

• Biohazard safety
• Familiarity with a regulated lab environment

• Education - Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or related field
• Learns quickly and appreciates advice
• Clinical lab testing, quality systems and SOPs
• MLT Certification for Molecular Pathology as outlined in Florida 64B3-5.003-3 available at .
• Experience - 6 months of experience typically gained through skills/knowledge/abilities in Currently enrolled in a CLS internship or certification eligible.
• Knowledge of lab safety protocols
