As a Materials Engineering Surface Technology Engineer, you will be a part of a team of great people in the Materials Technology Center focusing on new surface technology and coatings as well as supporting current surface technologies.

In this exciting new opportunity, you will provide knowledge and expertise and execute tasks on the development of materials, processes, models and analysis methods, writing proposals to secure internal and external funding for projects and then perform the application of materials to the design, test, manufacture, and service operation of systems, the approval, validation and control of raw materials and / or component manufacturing processes, and establish pre-production capability and transition processes to production.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Knowledge of chemical processes and corrosion protection methods and systems.
  • Interface with other engineering departments and customers to help solve internal and external production issues where specialist knowledge is required.
  • Develop and validate new coatings systems for the business
  • Write reports and disseminate R&T results to appropriate persons.
  • Execute R&T plans and projects while performing research activities to demonstrate concepts
  • Identify new and existing coating technologies for efficient and effective manufacture and repair of engine components as well as the support and troubleshooting of existing processes.
Basic Requirements:
  • PhD in Engineering or equivalent technical capability based on practical knowledge and experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years’ experience, OR
  • Master's degree in Engineering with experience in, OR
