Job Description

Half Time, Days. 18 hours/week.

Pay Range is between $22.73-$34.10/hr, depending on years of relevant and like experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The massage therapist functions as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team of care providers who reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm and mutual respect. This position is responsible for providing professional massage therapy services for patients in an outpatient setting to promote relaxation, pain relief, and optimal healing.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Graduate of a school of massage therapy with a minimum of 500 hours of massage therapy training preferred.

Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.)

  • Registered Massage Therapist with the State of Colorado Required.
  • Basic Life Support certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Certification as Lymphedema Therapist Preferred.

Experience

Preferred:

  • 1000 hours of massage therapy experience.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Experience with cross-training in related complementary care areas such as Therapeutic Touch/Healing Touch, Reiki, aromatherapy, reflexology, or acupressure.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrates appropriate Encore! behavior as stated in the Encore! performance standards.
  • Performs safe and effective soft tissue work and massage.
  • Evaluate and treat patients of Outpatient Cancer Services within the scope of practice for massage therapists licensed in the state of Colorado.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally at all times with an interdisciplinary team including patient, family, physician, referral sources, team members, peers, support staff and management through written and verbal means.
  • Document according to department policies and applicable regulations.
  • Facilitate the delivery of age-specific care skills as defined by area patient population.
  • Assist in creating a calm and healing environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and requirements.
