HOUSTON MARKETING AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Reporting to the Director of Business Development and Chief Operating Officer, this is a collaborative role working closely with a five-person marketing team consisting of the Director (New Orleans), two Marketing Managers (Baton Rouge and New Orleans) and two Marketing Coordinators (both in Baton Rouge) and a seasonal Marketing Intern.


Key Responsibilities Include


  • Develops, disseminates, and updates various marketing materials, ensuring materials are up-to-date and readily available, including practice descriptions and brochures, experience lists, and biographies.
  • Manages projects specifically related to helping attorneys achieve their marketing goals and objectives.
  • Manages participation in external seminars, sponsorships, speaking opportunities, professional/industry organizations, and networking events.
  • Assists with legal surveys and attorney rankings. Collaborates with practice group attorneys to support practice group, office, and firm marketing and public relations initiatives.
  • Oversees creation and maintenance of databases for mailing and contact lists in coordination with the Marketing Coordinator.
  • Researches and analyzes information to identify marketing opportunities as well as speaking and authorship opportunities.
  • Assists in the development of ads, promotional materials, communications, and general design projects.
  • Manages the development and implementation of marketing strategies at the attorney, practice group, and firm levels.
  • Coordinates and implements media relations and external communications.
  • Conceptualizes, develops, and manages client-facing marketing events.
  • Serves as liaison with multiple Texas-based and national organizations.
  • Assists with website and social media content and ensures accuracy.
  • Helps to prepare selected pitches/proposals, including compiling materials and rehearsing presentations.


Experience And Qualifications


  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information.
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Law firm or other professional services experience is preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communications skills.
  • Flexibility with working hours and business travel.
  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant professional marketing experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business and professional publications.
  • Ability to work independently as well as manage projects and assignments in a collaborative team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals with differing opinions and diverse personalities.
  • Ability to write business correspondence, proposals/pitches, and reports.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, familiarity using a CRM system and photo and design programs, and ability to adapt to new software programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive self-starter; strategic thinker.
  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent, sound judgment.
