General Responsibilities
The Manager-In-Training responsibilities include assisting with day-to-day operations. This is accomplished by gaining knowledge of operations, policies, protocols, and processes. Also, by learning how to handle disputes, attending meetings and other learning opportunities, traveling to other locations, providing support and suggestions for improvement, and preparing documentation.
Anticipated responsibilities outlined below.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Involved in all front desk related activities.
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of facility including taking responsibility for largest section of cleaning daily.
  • Maintain correct cleaning and daily round logs.
  • Employees:
  • Manage cash drawer and deposit procedure.
  • Ensure safety of employees, members and club property.
  • Take prospective members on tours.
  • Manage club Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) platform
  • New member sign-up.
  • Member Service:
  • Maintain consistent accountability for direct reports by training and coaching, ensuring adherence to PF's values and goals.
  • Cleanliness:
  • Schedule staff and ensure all shifts are covered.
  • Recruit, hire, train and develop a high performing staff consisting of Assistant General Managers, Front Desk Associates, and Fitness Trainers.
  • Determine and communicate equipment repair in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all members, prospective members and guests and ensure staff follows superior customer service guidelines.
  • Manage corrective action activities.
  • Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with a variety of questions.
  • Facilitate all member requests, issues, and questions.
  • Check members into the system.
  • Administration and processing of bi-weekly employee timesheets.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to talk and hear, sit, stand, and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel. Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move objects up to 75 pounds.
  • A Degree in Management or similar preferred
  • Comfortable working a flexible rotating schedule
  • Supervisory experience in same or similar/relevant field (e.g. Customer Services, Hospitality, etc.)
  • Ability to travel to other clubs as needed
  • A High School Diploma Or Equivalent required
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel)
  • Previous experience in Planet Fitness strongly preferred
  • Current CPR Certification required or willingness to get certified upon hire
