The Machinery & Equipment Specialties department is currently seeking a Field Engineer to provide Machinery & Equipment boiler inspection in our Golden, CO territory. This position can be filled by a Trainee or Experienced Field Engineer.

Positions serving territories away from our headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio may be fully remote.

The pay range for this position is $63,000 - $141,750 annually. The pay determination is based on the applicant’s education, experience, location, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Eligible associates may also receive an annual cash bonus and stock incentives based on company and individual performance.

Be ready to:

  • Efficiently and effectively manage the territory for which you are responsible for
  • Serve as a professional resource to our insurance agents as they retain business and increase the value of their marketing efforts
  • Maintain territory's jurisdictional boiler and pressure vessel certificate inspections
  • Educate agents on how to market machinery and equipment to their clients
  • Provide high level of claims service to our local independent insurance agents

Field Engineer Trainee Program:

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, organizational and prioritization skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently to accomplish initiatives
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the territory to meet job demands
  • Strong customer service skills and abilities
  • Possess an engineering/technically based Bachelor’s degree or other qualifying boiler & pressure vessel work experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and related software

Experienced Field Engineer:

  • Demonstrated pursuit of continuing education
  • Machinery and equipment experience within a property & casualty insurance company preferred
  • Strong consultative, organizational, and presentation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree applicable to the position responsibilities or related experience and training
  • Strong knowledge of machinery and equipment, equipment breakdown coverages, corresponding business lines, regulations and consensus standards preferred
  • Possess a National Board commission or have the necessary qualifications to promptly acquire it

You've earned:

  • Candidates with prior boiler and machinery experience and/or a degree in a related engineering field will be considered
  • Current commission from the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors or eligible for reinstatement or;
