TWB Company is looking to add great folks to our team in our Canton, MI facility. We are North America’s market leader for tailor welded products with locations in Kentucky, Michigan, Tennessee, Ontario and Mexico. Formed in 1992, TWB is a joint venture of Worthington Industries and BAO and Steel Company. The company developed the tailor welded blank market in North America and is the leading manufacturer of tailor welded products in the NAFTA region supporting JIT production and services to the automotive industry. The company’s technologies are helping automotive companies produce stronger, lighter vehicles.

We are currently hiring 2nd shift Laser Weld Machine Operators ! We are running 12 hour shift from 5a-5p & 5p-5a. The schedule will require all associates (2,2,3 schedule) to rotate days and work every other weekend.

$19.70/hour Minimum Starting Pay

$.55 Shift differential for 2nd shift

$2,500 signing bonus

Profit Sharing

TWB is looking to add an Operator to our team. The primary roles of the Operator are to operate specified machine, train others to get the maximum efficiency on the machine and move material to/from a machine in order for production to run smoothly. This role may also be responsible for moving material with a forklift and/or crane, building arbors and setting up machines for use. We are looking for candidates who are self-started with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

  • Move finished goods material to the proper location and stack as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Responsible for product quality
  • Keep laser lines loaded with the proper WIP material
  • Processes customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Other duties may be assigned
  • FIFO inventory – WIP and finished goods
  • Complete necessary record on documentation relating to inspection, TPM, job set-up and other required paperwork
  • Assist with job changeovers
  • Ensures the timely flow of material, contributing to process efficiency.
  • Inspect product as per instructions & routings
  • Print required paperwork, set-ups and routings
  • Band/secure pallets per customer requirements
  • Verify process set-up in accordance to set-up sheets
  • Verify equipment on hand to perform job function
  • Learn to run all laser lines as back-up operator
  • Remove and tag scrap per company policy (parts and re-shear)
  • Verify job set-up to schedule
  • Oversees order change over on regular orders - setup machines (off line).
  • Moves material to/from a machine with a forklift and/or crane in a timely, safe and efficient manner.

Desired Experience

  • Knows hazard communication and hazard energy procedures
  • Must know how to read all measuring devices
  • Basic writing and math skills
  • 6 months of previous material handling experience or equivalent knowledge
  • Must understand the safety training and procedures manuals
  • Ability to perform all required quality checks and surface inspection of material
  • Ability to lead by example, coach and train in basic functions of machine set up and operation
  • Ability to make quality decisions for minor defects and proper tooling needed for set ups
  • Complete knowledge of all functions of machine operation
  • Required OSHA safety training provided
  • Computer knowledge – Oracle operating system
  • Forklift and/or crane license
