Costco is looking for an experienced iOS Software Developer to join its Membership development team, responsible for the Employee and public-facing Costco app. The Software Developer must be proficient in all aspects of the application’s lifecycle from concept to delivery. The individual in this role may be asked to be the development lead on projects to ensure the delivery of high quality artifacts and to follow Costco’s SDLC.

ROLE

Develops efficient code in various development languages for enhancements and bug fixes.

Designs, develops, tests, and deploys software solutions and process flows complying with standards, guidelines, and best practices.

Executes against project plans and delivers assignments within scope, schedule, and budget.

Creates, executes, and evaluates unit/integration tests.

Adopts and adapts to newly approved technologies, programming languages, tools, and standards.

Identifies, assesses, and formulates architectural impacts and solutions from business requirements.

Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints, including the ability to estimate work needed.

Assesses functional and nonfunctional requirements and creates designs to meet both business and technical needs.

Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents.

Identifies and resolves problems, often anticipating issues before they occur or before they grow, develops and evaluates options, and implements solutions.

Delivers across the entire app life cycle – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release, and support.

Interacts directly with other developers and stakeholders to conceptualize, build, test, and release products.

Understands the “cutting edge” technology, while delivering reliable functionality to the market.

Partners with the User Experience team to build new features.

Optimizes performance for iOS applications.

Keeps up to date on the latest industry trends in iOS technology.

Explains technologies and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Provides accurate and timely estimates and work breakdown schedules.

Creates conceptual and detailed technical design documents.

Adopts and implements standards and best practices for software development.

Provides 3rd-level application support for production installed components.

REQUIRED

4+ years’ of mobile app development experience.

Demonstrable knowledge of iOS development; proficient in Swift, Xcode, and Objective-C.

Detailed knowledge of iOS technologies including networking, data, and UI frameworks, and the application lifecycle.

Worked on apps that are published on the App Store.

Solid knowledge of mobile user interface development.

Good problem solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Working knowledge of RESTful services.

High integrity, accountability, a positive attitude, and willingness to do what it takes to make the team successful.

Proven ability to manage priorities and timelines.

Extremely responsive, with a strong sense of urgency.

Responsible, conscientious, organized, self-motivated, and able to work with limited supervision.

Strong communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to work with all management levels.

Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business including evenings, weekends, and 24x7 on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.

Recommended

BS or MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent work experience is a plus.

Pay Ranges:

Level 1 - $85,000 - $110,000

Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000
