Job Description
Primary responsibilities are:


  • In addition to these sales responsibilities, the Inside Sales Representative serves as a Customer/Dealer Service Representative for approximately 50% of the time.
  • Outbound sales activity via telephone and e-mail correspondence. Requires contacting an agreed upon number of existing accounts and potential new accounts, on a weekly basis. Must be able to develop a pipeline of leads via original research. Performance is largely measured on the ability to achieve or surpass defined quarterly and annual sales goals, including specific targets for generating revenue from new accounts.


Responsibilities:


Sales:


  • Participates in trade shows, promotional events and potential other sales activities that may require travel.
  • Research potential new customers and maintains an active lead list in CRM software.
  • Contacts existing accounts and potential new accounts, via telephone and/or e-mail. Tracks activity against established monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
  • Provides detailed reporting on sales activities and results using cloud-based CRM software and other technology tools.


Customer Service:


  • Provides support to the NG Maps sales team. Activities include, order status updates /shipment tracking, new account processing, back-order status, and miscellaneous information requests that may require research.
  • Organizes and enters orders (including EDI) in a Microsoft Dynamics environment.
  • Answers general phone and email inquiries from end-user customers and the general public. These include map information inquiries and error reports, licensing requests, donation requests, and general National Geographic inquires.
  • Provides support and solutions for retail/wholesale customers by addressing errors, damaged shipments, order discrepancies, requests for credit, and other inquiries.


Basic Qualifications:


  • Knowledge of CRM software. Experience using Salesforce desirable.
  • Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Minimum of one year’s experience in a sales/customer service/marketing position and/or experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
  • Understanding of sales cycles and customer service needs.
  • Self-starter, motivated, proactive, dependable, flexible and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively learn and communicate the features and benefits of a variety of cartographic products.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office software suite - Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Detail oriented. Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to accurately perform math-based tasks.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to effectively research and compile qualified sales leads.


The hiring range for this position in CO is $20 to $25.50 per hour. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
