Job Purpose
The Account Manager is responsible for day-to-day sales operations for LGC Clinical Diagnostics Division within a specifically defined territory.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote hospital network and cross-selling initiatives to comply with company goals.
- Completes strategic customer account plans that meet company standards.
- Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Achieves assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
- Develop consultative relationships, through phone calls, with new and existing account bases that perform calibration verification testing and third-party controls for infectious diseases.
- Coordinates sales efforts with marketing, sales management, customer service, accounting, logistics, and technical support groups.
- Maintains high customer satisfaction that meets company standards.
- Able to represent LGC Clinical Diagnostics Division at National Trade Show individually if necessary.
- Update and maintain the current Customer Relations Management database.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all products and their relevance and application in the Clinical Laboratory space.
- Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned period.
- Develops him/herself to be the trusted advisor to our customers.
- Continue education on product advantages to ensure customer loyalty.
Education and Experience
- BA/BS degree in Chemistry, Business, or a related field
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work in a cross-functional matrix environment.
- CRM Experience a must (Salesforce.com preferred)
- 3 - 5 Years of Direct Technical Sales experience in a Clinical Diagnostic Laboratory experience preferred
- Highly effective oral and written communication skills
