Alaska West Express, Inc. is looking for an energetic, organized, detail-orientated Human Resources Generalist. If you enjoy working with people, if you can multi-task, problem solve and communicate effectively then this position is for you! The successful candidate will assist the human resources department by providing a variety of support duties and other general human resources functions.
- Coordinate and execute office events, including charitable events, health and wellness events, employee training programs, employee engagement events and screenings, etc.
- Maintain broad knowledge of current federal and state wage and hour laws.
- Provide customer service to employees by answering questions.
- Create and maintain driver qualification files.
- Provide assistance in other areas of human resources by doing special projects.
- Create and maintain FMLA paperwork.
- Participate in the exit interview process.
- Use human resources software applications.
- Support the management of the employee life cycle.
- Utilize company ATS, background check and on-boarding systems.
- Schedule appointments for pre-employment physicals and drug screens.
- Work under limited supervision and make decisions based upon established policies and/or procedures.
- Create and maintain employee personnel records.
- Must be flexible and adaptive to constant changes and be able to work in a high stress environment.
- Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet schedules/deadlines.
- Ability to meet a regular work schedule.
- Strong time management, organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position.
- PC skills required: Windows, Excel, Outlook, keyboarding proficiency.
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
