JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Human Resources is currently seeking an Onboarding Coordinator to lead the efforts of a team of HR Onboarding Associates. The onboarding team is responsible for onboarding full and part-time employees at the University as well as supporting our I9 partners at the Commonwealth Campuses. Onboarding activities include: I9 verification, ID issuance, and delivery of introductory information. The Onboarding Coordinator oversees two onboarding locations with an emphasis on providing a positive and welcoming experience for new employees.
Responsibilities for this position include:
- Scheduling and assigning onboarding sessions and projects to team members
- Monitoring distribution of work and make adjustments as needed
- Work with units across the University to facilitate specialized onboarding sessions
- Determine appropriate staffing for both centers as well as projecting the session schedules based on hiring volumes
- Develop onboarding materials and job aids
- Oversight of onboarding processes, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with the HR Data and Onboarding Manager on process improvements and the strategic vision of the department.
- Prepare reports from various systems, such as Workday, Microsoft Bookings and Neocase
- Interface with HR leadership on coordinating action items that align with onboarding
- Hiring, training, and mentoring of HR Onboarding Associates
- Oversee onboarding partner role assignments, onboarding partner training sessions and content

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Attention to detail
- Collaborative and flexible style
- Knowledge of HR Onboarding preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills, both oral and written communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and lead by example
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
