Texas Diabetes & Endocrinology, P.A. (TD&E) has grown over the years to meet the Endocrinology needs of the Austin community. Our Human Resources Department is seeking an HR (Human Resources) Generalist I to join the team!


*This position is remote based, but travels to our offices on a frequent basis. A travel stipend is included. At time of offer, applicant must be a current resident of the greater Austin area. *


The HR Generalist I holds responsibilities in several key HR areas including recruitment and onboarding; employee file management; HRIS data management; new employee benefits enrollment; and employee recognition. The HR Generalist I also acts as back-up to the HR Manager and may assist in several areas as needed including payroll, leave administration, offboarding, employee relations, general benefits/401k administration, and HR compliance. The HR Generalist I is an important member of the administration team and will interact with staff at all organization levels.


HR Generalist I Key Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts onsite New Employee Orientation at all three of our locations in the Austin/Round Rock area. Reviews/trains new staff on benefit options, HRIS/time management system, and company policies and procedures in the Employee Handbook.
  • May assist the HR Manager in several areas as needed including payroll, leave administration, offboarding, employee relations, general benefits/401k administration, and HR compliance.
  • Maintains active and terminated employee files and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Completes monthly reports to leadership.
  • Develops training initiatives in areas of responsibility.
  • Completes recruitment screening calls as requested; creates offer letters; administers background checks, reference checks, and employment verifications.
  • Works closely with the management team to recruit and onboard new staff; develops recruitment strategies and plans in conjunction with managers; is responsible for maneuvering technological changes/updates in hiring platforms (i.e., Indeed) and HRIS (Paycom).
  • Administers employee recognition programs and shares in the administration of the Employee Newsletter.

The ideal HR Generalist I candidate:

  • Is knowledgeable in the technical and operational aspects of Human Resources, including federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
  • Has at minimum 2 years of similar experience in a varied HR role with recruitment duties.
  • Is process-oriented and pays attention to minor details.
  • Can effectively manage and organize their time.
  • Is resourceful, tech savvy, and can navigate changes in ever-changing HRIS and recruitment platforms.
  • Is a strong communicator. This position administers job postings for all company positions and works with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Can travel to onsite locations for training, meetings, and New Employee Orientation.
  • Is skilled in basic math for payroll administration needs.
