SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the HR Coordinator performs a wide range of Human Resource functions including but not limited to data support using our HRIS, providing sustenance for various HR functions such as the on and off boarding process, assists with HR audits, creates packets for various status changes, completes all verifications of employment and EDD notices. The HR Coordinator will also assist with updating and maintenance of forms, policies and procedures that pertain to various employee benefit programs and other duties as requested.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Archives I-9
  • Completes I-9 and E-verify for new hires
  • Submits background authorizations for pre-employment screenings
  • Overseeing the benefit enrollment process
  • Make hotel accommodations
  • Track bonuses, transfers and promotions accordingly via employment files
  • Providing new hires with an orientation explaining benefits and assisting them with the enrollment process
  • Combines personnel file with benefit file for archiving
  • Relieve and act as back-up for Receptionist
  • Complete Paycom new hire checklists
  • Assists with New Hire Orientation to support HR Recruiting Team
  • Creates Exit Packets for departing employees
  • Coordinates special event activities Creates ad hoc reports as requested
  • Assisting employees with enrolling in dental, vision, medical, and other insurance benefit programs
  • Pulls Performance Reviews from Sales Binder to include in personnel file
  • Administers verifications of employment and EDD notices (north and south) within 48 hours of receipt; partners with HR Generalist for details
  • Prepares New Hire personnel file and onboarding materials Ensures onboarding materials are complete upon hire
  • Reviewing monthly benefit payroll deductions
  • Answering employee questions about benefit programs: This may include conducting presentations and meetings with employees to explain available benefits or any changes
  • Reports workers’ compensation claims to the insurance company within 24 hours of injury and coordinates the return to work authorizations working with the HR Generalist.
  • Keeping meticulous records of benefit information provided to employees—and making sure the records are updated

Position Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal skills – flexible, understanding and discrete in compiling confidential and sensitive information/issues
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to prepare Newsletters and internal correspondence
  • Flexibility and the ability to pivot in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in writing and/or editing business correspondence
  • Willingness and ability to carry out other duties as assigned
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in HR support capacity using an HRIS preferably Workday
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate projects with a diversity of individuals at all organizational level
  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal
  • Advanced level in Excel and Word
$27 - $29 an hour

Physical Standards:
The employee must be able to type, walk, climb stairs, bend, reach, and lift if necessary, up to 25 pounds. To successfully perform the essential job functions, an employee must meet the physical demands required for this position. Individuals may need to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lift as required when filing documents or storing materials through the work day.
