Description
This position is an entry level HR administration role. This role will be a point of contact for internal and external customers to the Human Resources department. The role requires the ability to demonstrate initiative and work as an enthusiastic team member, while performing a wide range of human resource functions.
Primary accountabilities and duties: Functions and tasks will include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for leaving a good first impression with all visitors and callers
- Candidate paperwork
- Filing
- Assist with general administration
- Investigate and answer claims concerning unemployment
- File retention and audits
- Assist with all other duties that may be assigned
- Recruitment and selection
- Badge appointments and follow ups
- Conduct the HR induction process with new hires
- Functions must be executed in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner
- Ensure full compliance with the recruitment process, policy and procedure
- Data capturing
- Conduct interviews
- Investigate and answer correspondence related to unemployment or discrimination
- Prepare all related paperwork
- Ensure the safe and secure operations, in accordance with the highest possible standards of health, safety, security and all government statutory requirements.
- Analyse and process leave and return to work
- Prepare letters and documents
- Induction and on-boarding
- Prepare Customs Seal applications and conduct 10 year back ground checks
- Schedule interviews
- Assist with employee queries, employee recognition distribution and creation of documents
Candidate requirements:
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents
- Must have strong relational and communication skills
- Must enjoy working with a diverse group of people in a dynamic environment
- Must be able to multi task and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook experience essential
- Typing minimum of 35 wpm
- Minimum of 1 year working in an office environment
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs., comfortable with bending, kneeling and pushing and pulling file boxes
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
