Heavy Machine Operator- Loader/Dozer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for operating a front-end loader and other heavy equipment, working with other members of the construction crew to successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner to meet or exceed customer expectations.

• Shape and finish shoulders and slopes.
• Inspect equipment/machinery for safe day-to-day operation and for general maintenance needs.
• Lubricate, fuel, and maintain other fluids on machinery.
• Responsible for cleanliness and general housekeeping of the machine.
• Ability to understand the limitation of the machine.
• Interact with crew members who are facilitating alignment, movement, and adjustment of equipment to complete conformation of grade specifications for the construction project.
• Perform activities such as backfilling excavations, breaking concrete and asphalt, loading and unloading materials off trucks.
• Move materials over various distances around construction sites.
• Working knowledge of operating a front-end loader on a pipe crew or road/dirt construction crew.
• Operate various heavy equipment, such as dozers, scrapers, loaders, excavators, tractors, front end loaders, and backhoes, to excavate, and move and grade earth.
• Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.

Job Specific Competencies:

• Must be able to perform manual labor (assisting crew members on the ground) in all types of environments and conditions.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in operating different types of front-end loaders.

Physical requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch.
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds.
• Must be able to work outdoors and withstand different weather elements.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Compensation: Starting at $20 per hour
