Job Description

*Must be based in Austin


Overview: The Vice President of Marketing will lead the marketing function and departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures. He/she will establish and implement the Company’s marketing strategy and coordinates agency partners and the marketing team to execute strategy and meet revenue and profit goals. This role reports directly to the Founder.


Responsibilities:

  • Focus on building sales and forecasting future product performance
  • Analyze growth opportunities in new markets utilizing syndicated data and distribution

channels

  • Identify and deliver on new and incremental selling channels, studying and

understanding each specific market structure and channel base

  • Generating innovative ideas and executing email campaigns, event marketing, press
  • Coordinate implementation of overall strategy and marketing programs

releases, ad placements, in-store design and merchandising


Brand Development and Storytelling:

  • Foster excellent brand storytelling - Work with all stakeholders to identify and effectively

communicate the story of the brand, maintaining a consistent voice to consumers

across retailers and digital/ecommerce consumer communities

  • Build on and increase the brand’s organic influencer and customer enthusiasm to

determine and communicate the right brand message to all stakeholders and

connect powerfully with consumers and potential consumers

  • Work with internal team and third parties to drive sales and marketing strategy, which

may include agencies, advertising, packaging, consumer research, and product

development


Marketing Team Leadership:

  • Assess team needs, hire and support the growth of team members to continually

improve, and account for strong team performance

  • Develop and manage quarterly marketing plans, programs, and events

Ecommerce and Digital Marketing

  • Design and execute vision and strategy for all ecommerce/digital sales and growth

through a comprehensive customer acquisition, retention, email and social media

marketing strategy

  • Leverage multiple platforms and analytical tools to identify and address critical issues

including those related to consumer targeting, marketing mix analysis, and product

portfolio analysis

  • Establish shopper marketing process with the sales team to support e-tailers/retailers


Job requirements:

  • 8+ years’ brand experience in the consumer packaged goods industry required
  • Previous experience is required in the development and management of short and long-

term marketing plans, operating budgets, and analysis

  • Successful performance requires skills in leadership, analytical and creative problem

solving, verbal/written communications, influence management and negotiation, work

planning and organization, team collaboration, conflict resolution, and the ability to

motivate and gain cooperation from others

  • Very strong experience with brand development and proven track record in owning and

steering brand messaging and story-telling

  • A go-getter with a strong work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for cutting edge

marketing

  • Ability to learn quickly and desire to develop new skills outside of comfort zone
