Responsibilities:
  • Provide feedback on closure of NCR/CAR to QA/QC Manager for CAR closeout.
  • Pre-weld out dimensional confirmation
  • Complete assembly of packages including all valves, instruments, pumps, motors, access landings, ladders, handrails, etc. (as required per scope given by CM)
  • The General Superintendent position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to coordinate site installs from facility development to facility equipment installs and commissioning.
  • CAR/NCR Feedback
  • Continually work with QA/QC on site to ensure fitters and welders are providing the below information: (but not limited to)
    • Heat Numbers for materials utilized
    • Pre-weld out dimensional confirmation
  • Responsible for ensuring Quality Control tasks (dimensional checks, levelness of all material/items installed, welding appearance, heat #’s & welder stencils, etc.…) on all pipe, vessel, and packaging jobs are completed and followed by Foreman & shop personnel. Work with Quality Control Manager on all pipe, vessel, and package jobs in shop.
  • Monitor package assembly tasks being completed by Foreman and personnel including the following:
    • Return of materials to designated material area after complete assembly of packages
    • Complete assembly of packages including all valves, instruments, pumps, motors, access landings, ladders, handrails, etc. (as required per scope given by CM)
    • Spot and install I&E support clips (when required) under guidance of selected I&E Supervisor and customer representative. (as required per scope given by CM)
    • Ensure protective blinds, plugs, valves and U-bolts are installed per project requirements as indicated by responsible Construction Manager and/or drawings at completion of all task.
  • General Superintendent is to be main point of contact for all updates, clarifications, or other daily project business with the Project Management and Project Coordinator. Project Director is to be kept informed and copied in on all correspondence pertaining to project execution/Project Management.
  • Supervision of all project foremen.
  • Monitor all repetitive and/or substantial personnel quality, accuracy, workmanship, or reliability issues to the Construction Manager and HR Department for follow up and mitigating actions to be taken through progressive discipline.
  • DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Description
      • The General Superintendent position requires the person to demonstrate the ability to coordinate site installs from facility development to facility equipment installs and commissioning.
      • Ensure adherence to specification and code requirements.
      • Overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.
      • Effectively assign and monitor tasks given to personnel.
      • Monitor productivity and efficiency of operations, ensure ACI’s quality standards and procedures are maintained.
  • Overseeing and coordinating all of the activities of a construction site according to project blueprints and schedule plans. Their duties include coordinating subcontractors, performing quality control and safety checks and providing on-site direction when preparing construction sites.
  • Monitor that project material is not removed and/or returned to designated material storage area without the approval by the Material Expeditor.
  • Obtain work pack drawings from QA/QC Department and Assign/Issue to Foreman’s and communicate any specific fabrication requirements and needs. During draw review with Foreman’s, highlight any special fabrication requirements for Fitter reference.
  • Monitor productivity and efficiency of operations, ensure ACI’s quality standards and procedures are maintained.
  • Spot and install I&E support clips (when required) under guidance of selected I&E Supervisor and customer representative. (as required per scope given by CM)
  • Sequence of receiving fabricated material and hardware
  • Maintain/Monitor consumable inventory for your project (supplies & gases)
  • Participate in all Daily completion/24hr look ahead meetings as well as daily Safety Meetings.
  • Daily 24hr look ahead meeting
  • Complete NCR/CAR investigation and documentation with responsible Foreman. Turn in documents to QA/QC Manager within 24 hours of occurrence.
    • Provide feedback on closure of NCR/CAR to QA/QC Manager for CAR closeout.
  • Ensure protective blinds, plugs, valves and U-bolts are installed per project requirements as indicated by responsible Construction Manager and/or drawings at completion of all task.
  • Keep all project equipment maintained. Advise Construction Manager of equipment failures or purchases required.
  • Monitor daily clock in and clock out time.
  • Communicate NDE scheduling and requirements with QA/QC representative.
  • Setup project site for workflow efficiency
  • Coordinate any repair work required after completion of NDE based on NDE reports/information turned in to QA/QC by NDE vendor.
  • Continually work with Construction Manager to develop efficiency and quality improvements during project sequence based on (but not limited to):
    • Daily 24hr look ahead meeting
    • Sequence of receiving fabricated material and hardware
    • CAR/NCR Feedback
    • Setup project site for workflow efficiency
  • Communicate all out-of-scope occurrences/install misfits immediately with the Construction Manager for forward direction. (additional cost capture)
  • Ensure all personnel assigned to daily task are accounted for on daily time sheets.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
  • Experience & Qualifications
    • 10 years’ experience in Construction and steel fabrication.
      • 5-years’ experience as Superintendent or similar position
    • Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
    • Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, government officials, and clients
    • Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
    • Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the worksite
    • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • 10 years’ experience in Construction and steel fabrication.
    • 5-years’ experience as Superintendent or similar position
  • Good reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Keen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problems
  • Preferably high school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the worksite
  • Education
    • Preferably high school diploma or equivalent
