Our client is seeking a highly experienced Freight Operations Supervisor to join their team.


This position requires a candidate with 5 to 10 years of operations management, pharmaceuticals, and freight experience.


The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record of successfully managing freight operations and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.


You will oversee reefer/pharma exports of high-value shipments of blood plasma from the EC and the Gulf in specialized reefer Magnum containers with temperature-tracking capabilities throughout the entire transit.


This job is On-Site in Edison, NJ.


Job Responsibilities


  • Resolve any customer service issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and laws regarding freight operations.
  • Organize and direct the activities of freight operations staff and ensure that all staff are properly trained to carry out their duties.
  • Analyze and prepare reports to evaluate the performance of freight operations personnel.
  • Develop operational processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers to ensure quality services.
  • Analyze and implement changes to optimize the performance and cost-effectiveness of freight services.
  • Monitor carriers and negotiate rates and services to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery.
  • Manage freight operations to ensure that cost-effective and efficient freight services are provided to customers.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections of freight operations equipment.
  • Direct all freight activities and coordinate with other departments to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.


Qualifications


  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • 5 to 10 years of operations management, pharmaceuticals, and freight experience.
  • Indian market knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and laws regarding freight operations.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of Drayage operations a plus
  • Pharmaceutical and temp-controlled (reefer) shipment knowledge preferred
  • 3+ years of import, export, logistics, and/or relevant experience required
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with L/C, Hazmat, Export License, Temperature Controlled, and Commercial Cargo
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.


Education/Experience


  • Experience managing freight operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • 5 to 10 years of operations management, pharmaceuticals, and freight experience.
