Job Description
Fort Worth Carrier Corporation, the dedicated carrier for a major retailer, is currently seeking a full-time Fleet Transportation Coordinator at our distribution center located in Mabelvale, AR.
Location: Mabelvale, AR (Little Rock)
Compensation: From $25.00 per hour with full-time benefits
Work hours: Regular full-time hours Monday-Friday 8AM to 5PM

Summary: The Fleet Transportation Coordinator will provide administrative support to the division manager, handling routine and repetitive activities in a timely and accurate manner. Primary responsibility is to assist the dispatch office with the daily dispatch and routing of drivers on regional and national trips. Additional support roles may include: planning local and regional store deliveries, data entry, payroll entry, and billing.
Role: The Fleet Transportation Coordinator's primary role includes: accepting load tenders, scheduling and coordinating with outside vendors for freight pickups, distribution center to distribution center shipments, entering trip information into systems for payroll and customer charges, invoicing traffic loads, maintaining records of daily and weekly miles for planning and reporting. Daily communication with all division managers, drivers and division transportation coordinators is required to ensure that the rapidly changing demands of the organization are met. The Fleet Transportation Coordinator will support division managers in the overall operation of the yard, local pickup and delivery, store delivery and inbound vendor loads. Coordinators will ensure all operations are performing with optimum efficiency, organization and safety. Fleet Transportation Coordinator will rotate with the Division Manager and Assistant Manager for after-hours calls and weekend operations.
Essential Functions:
  • Monitor drivers available hours, duty status and plan work assignments
  • Plan and coordinate inbound vendor loads to distribution centers
  • Plan and coordinate vendor pick-ups
  • Plan and coordinate shipments, preparing daily dispatch and routing of drivers on local, regional, and national trips to ensure on-time deliveries
  • Monitor drivers hours of service logs to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
  • Update computer systems with estimated times of arrival to the distribution centers
  • Assist with daily reporting including: consolidation sheets, end of shift, trailer schedules, and driver mileage
  • Properly allocate store charges and miles into billing system
  • Assist with monitoring drivers arrival and departure times
  • Provide professional service and image at all times
  • Communicate and coordinate with customer and shippers regarding traffic/vendor pick-ups
  • Plan and coordinate store deliveries from the distribution center
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work weekends as required
  • Ability to perform effective communication with telephone etiquette
  • Ability to use computer software including: Spreadsheets, Word Processors and email.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and maintain schedule per instructions
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to recognize, process, and read numerical information
  • Ability to work any day/evening during the week including after-hours calls
  • Ability to complete tasks including copying, scanning, and data entry into various software programs
Job Requirements: Requires a Class C License. High School Diploma required. Must be able to pass drug/alcohol screen. Verifiable work history. Knowledgeable of DOT and FMCSA regulations. Reliable transportation to and from work. Requires a solid foundation of transportation logistics and routing, including one year of verifiable experience in performing Fleet dispatch duties. Functional communications devices (IE telephone, mobile phone, etc.) Requires the ability to work flexible shifts in a fast-paced work environment including some weekends.
Physical Requirements: Requires walking the warehouse periodically to determine trailer schedules. Requires prolonged sitting at desk to enter data into computer system requiring use of both hands. Making and receiving telephone calls requiring arms to move in reaching motion frequently. Occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds and moving short distances. Occasional bending, twisting, crouching, and balancing may be required from time to time. Ability to proficiently communicate orally, written, and typing. Listening and auditory skills required.
