Field Engineer Jobs

OBAYASHI CORPORATION is seeking a qualified candidate with experience in heavy civil construction including site work, utilities, excavation, retaining walls, bridges, and concrete structures works. The position is at a project site in San Francisco, CA.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Monitor and oversee field operations including utilities, excavation, retaining wall and tie-back installation, concrete work and removal of existing bridge structures.
• Make daily report and update/inform ongoing progress and issues to team.
• Assist in review of project plans and development of project submittals and work plans.
• Provide managerial guidance to improve cost performance and to solve critical issues that may arise at the construction site.
• Track project quantities and monitor quality control.
• Perform field layout and measurement.

• Ensure that construction work is performed in accordance with our quality, technology and safety standards.

• The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed above and other duties may be assigned.
• Observe daily operation, find room to improve and provide alternative solutions.

Education & Work Experience:

• 0-5 years combined experience of project experience or estimating in heavy civil construction or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of BS degree in Civil Engineering, construction or related degree required.

Skills:

• Strong Computer Skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Outlook and Power Point.
• Knowledge of heavy civil construction principles, with ability to read plans and specifications.
• Effective oral and written communication skills required.
• Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.

OTHER:

• Able to work for night shift.
• Able to work as team member with crew and superintendent.
• Able to work after hours, weekends and on call when needed.
• Ability to walk and work on outdoor construction job sites.
• Ability to lift and/or lift up to 40 lbs.

Salary Range for this position: $80,000 - $110,000/year
