The successful candidate will have outstanding leadership skills and will be committed to working with others to deliver best in class, unparalleled excellence in customer service and satisfaction.
As a Facility Manager, you will manage safety and compliance, operations, personnel, and cost.
You will be responsible for daily support activities, including:
- Controlling costs by planning work, effectively using resources, and executing to budget.
- Working with Business Development to increase scope of services on existing contracts.
- Overseeing employees on-boarding and supporting the hiring process.
- Managing performance and progress against the plan and ensuring accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.
- Promoting employee career development plans and providing mentorship
- Collaborating with Human Resources to ensure work activities exceed customer’s expectations.
- Overseeing implementation of planned, preventative, and predictive maintenance programs.
- Ensuring workload is effectively prioritized, assigned, tracked, and executed.
- Meeting or exceeding KPI's.
- Supporting and/or conducting formal presentations to clients and management.
- Supporting BD and Group management in Contract negotiations with customers.
- Creating an inclusive, high-performance work environment through strong leadership.
- Ensuring workflows are defined, implemented, and effective.
- Tracking and reporting status against key performance indicators or contractual metrics on a routine basis. Implementing corrective measures when measures are outside service levels or bandwidths.
- Identifying and implementing cost savings initiatives in all areas of the project.
- Understanding the site's safe work requirements and ensuring work is performed in accordance with safety procedures.
- Maintaining consistent communication with management and client on key issues, potential client issues, approach to resolutions, and quickly addressing any issues with an action plan.
- Ensuring plans are aggressively monitored and requirements are enforced.
- Ensuring 24 x 7 operational availability of critical facility systems (HVAC, steam plant, electrical, compressed air, chilled, and process cooling water systems).
- Ensuring predictive technologies are effectively used and results are used to drive Reliability Center Maintenance.
- Managing multiple subcontractors supporting the operations and maintenance functions.
- Identifying potential project problems or opportunities, analyzing the issues using all appropriate resources, developing alternatives, and arriving at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities.
- Managing performance and progress against the plan and ensuring accurate forecasts with commensurate action plans.
- Anticipating operation’s needs and providing direction.
- Initiating and communicating a variety of personnel actions including employment, termination, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and scheduling and/or approving overtime.
- Creating and maintaining a succession plan.
- Providing accurate monthly forecasts of cost, schedule, and resource utilization.
- Developing detailed budget with labor, materials, and subcontract costs identified by month for project.
- Establishing annual operating budgets in cooperation with customer, business manager or group financial department.
- Establishing an organizational structure that ensures the most efficient utilization of resources while fulfilling the contractual requirements.
As the Facility Manager, you will be expected to:
- Balance workload and multiple tasks while focusing on attention to detail and prioritizing assignments.
- Take initiative to resolve issues that arise and solve problems independently; shift priorities as needed or requested by management and remain flexible.

Minimum Requirements
- Ability to pass a medical evaluation for respirator use and be able to successfully complete a fit test for several types of respirators.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain facility credentials/authorization. Note: US Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for facility credentials/authorization at this work location.
- Staff management experience, including disciplinary action, hiring, terminating, and performance appraisals.
- Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client’s location.
- Working Knowledge of purchasing and/or utilizing and managing subcontracts or vendors.
- This position does not include sponsorship for United States work authorization.
- 8 years of progressive career experience in industrial, pharmaceutical, biomedical, or research & development facility maintenance.
- Ability to obtain an appropriate driver's license issued by the State Department of Motor Vehicles, as requested.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Facility Management, Maintenance Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, training and experience in process or production maintenance or equivalent.
Some physical requirements include:
- Ability to read and understand information contained in a variety of documents or displayed on a computer screen.
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Ability to travel to other Amentum, customer and/or vendor locations in the area, as well as some air travel to more distant locations.
- Ability to use a variety of office equipment and to operate a computer keyboard to access data bases, to send/receive messages and to prepare documents.
- Ability to walk extensively throughout diverse work environments as required by business demand.
- Work at an accelerated pace in emergency conditions.
Special Requirements:
- Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
- Cope with demands (stressors) that are associated with the job and/or the work environment so that acceptable levels of performance and overall contribution are maintained.
Pfizer Site Requirement:
All employees and contractors working at a Pfizer site must be fully vaccinated against covid-19 by November 15, 2021, unless there is an approved medical or religious exemption. “Fully vaccinated” is defined as receiving the full dose therapy of an EUA approved covid-19 vaccine and being 14 days post the completion of the required dose regimen.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with engineering controls related to facility maintenance services.
- Knowledge of reliability maintenance
- Experience with typical Microsoft Office Suite programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Experience in continuous improvement initiatives such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, etc.
- Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment (e.g. GMP, GLP, GCP).
- Managing using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Predictive maintenance experience, including areas such as IR scanning, ultrasonic, vibration and oil analysis, testing, life cycle studies, incident reports, root cause analysis, and/or additional data gathering programs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs such as Power Point and Visio.
- Experience developing and managing a budget.
- Technical knowledge of industrial electrical and mechanical systems with the ability to prioritize, assign, track, and trend equipment history.
- Experience in contract negotiation.
