Manage the housekeeping and laundry operation to ensure quality standards are met while delivering a guest experience that is unique and brings the brand to life.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Returns:
  • Educate and train all team members in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews for all department team members.
  • Uniform and personal appearance are kept clean and professional and are in accordance with Maya Hotels Grooming Policy. A smile is considered part of the uniform.
  • Learn and adhere to all fire and emergency procedures, including procedures for handling the fire panel, ensuring guest safety, and participating in an evacuation if necessary.
  • Acknowledge each guest.
  • Maintain proper inventory levels managing cost per room for supplies and labor.
  • Promote a safe working environment
  • Live and demonstrate the Maya Hotels' core values.
  • May be responsible for the security of lost and found items throughout the hotel.
  • Comply with Maya Hotels policies, procedures, and Code of Ethics.
  • Responsible for the overall housekeeping department. Distribute housekeeping boards and understand the importance of tracking minutes per room to ensure room cleanliness.
  • Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction.
  • Manage day-to-day staffing requirements, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to help manage conflict and improve team member performance.
  • Work with General Manager to create a calendar with deep-cleaning projects and/or assist housekeeping staff during high-volume periods.
  • Maintain and order supplies and equipment in a timely and efficient manner while minimizing waste and maintaining “green” initiatives (for example: container recycling and cleaning agents).
  • Practice safe working habits, including bending and lifting appropriately to avoid injury, reporting hazards, appropriate use of cleaning chemicals, and working to minimize tripping and falling hazards,
  • Inspect all assigned rooms and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms/suites, equipment, linens, and public areas are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction. Advise employees of deficiencies and instruct on corrective action. Provide adequate retraining as needed. Carry out the special needs and requests of guests, VIPs, repeat visitors, and brand loyalty members.
