Duties And Responsibilities


  • Coordinate locker assignments to all instrumental ensemble students.
  • Maintain an accurate equipment inventory.
  • Maintain an updated data base of instrumental and choral music.
  • Maintain organization of the VSU Instrumental Performance Hall.
  • Report any needed repairs of school owned instruments to the Chair of the Department of Music.
  • In collaboration with the Chair of the Department of Music, develop and implement an updated equipment check out procedure.
  • Oversee the maintenance and inventory of all Department of Music equipment, including wind percussion instruments, pianos, keyboards, and music stands.
  • Coordinate storage of musical instruments, band uniforms, choir robes, concert attire and audio visual equipment.
  • Assist the Director of Marching and Pep Bands with the distribution and collection of all school owned instruments, mouthpieces, mutes, and lockers.
  • Other duties assigned by the Chairman of the Department of Music.
  • Maintain and organize all music in the instrumental and choral library.
Required Qualifications


  • Record of successful experience as an equipment manager on the university level
  • Experience as a musician on the collegiate level
  • High school diploma or equivalency
Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience in Higher Education setting
