Job Description

Quardev is seeking an Editor for a 100% remote, short-term, part-time contract role with our Tech-Ed client based in New Jersey. Do you have experience as an editor of science related educational materials for K-12 students? Do you have developmental and line editing experience? If you've answered yes to both these questions, please keep reading! The client's ideal candidate is an Earth, Space, Life & Physical sciences subject matter expert with experience in technical writing and editing roles, working for educational publishing or educational technology companies. This is a great opportunity to come and work with a leading educational partner, helping to create innovative, thoughtful, and engaging 6-12 science educational materials.



Responsibilities:

• Edits Earth & Space, Life, and Physical science articles, including related testing materials

• Makes edits to content, improving accuracy, clarity, consistency, organization, and readability

• Uses relevant voice, language, and compositional structure during the editing process

• Ensures over all look and feel of materials meets the client's high standards

• Collaborates closely with editorial lead to ensure content quality



Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Science or related area of study. Master's degree is preferred

• Working knowledge of Earth, Space, Life & Physical sciences

• 2+ years experience in an Editor role, working on K-12 educational materials

• Differentiated text and Lexile levels experience

• Must have educational publishing or educational technology industry experience

• Strong Microsoft Office skills are required for this role

• Ability to work 25-30 hours per week

• Strong technical writing skills, with a strong attention to detail



Please note that this position is not eligible for Corp to Corp, visa sponsorship or transfer. Expected pay rate for this position starts at $20.00/hour, depending on experience.
