Global Technology - Developer Experience and Platforms team is looking for a strong Tech Lead - Application Development, with strong experience in building tooling, SDKs, CLIs, Platforms and cloud native reference implementation while specialized in Mobile Application development, for consumption by business development communities across the enterprise globally. As a lead your focus is to design, bring in best practices working with the architecture group and develop innovative products that brings agility in our developer community! In addition to advanced technical expertise and experience, you will bring excellent problem solving, communication and teamwork skills, along with agile ways of working, strong business insight, an inclusive leadership attitude and a continuous learning focus to all that you do. Engineers in the group can be found wearing any number of hats: from software engineer, solution designer, developers, reliability engineer to developer advocate and evangelist .
Core Job Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other team members to design, implement, and deliver solutions that meet the needs of our customers (Enterprise Architect and line of business development teams)
  • Actively research, keeping up with the latest trends across Cloud, Web, Microservices and Android and iOS platforms/ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with Developer Experience and Platforms Product Owner and drive team, process, and architectural standards that reflect the unique complexities of mobile development while also complementing existing and ongoing work within other areas of Global Technology.
  • Design, review, write and test code – this is hands-on engineering role, and you will be directly involved in the design and development of new features, writing, reviewing and testing code
  • Lead development within the developer experience and platforms team, mentor and grow the technical competencies of the team through code reviews and active development
  • Work in all phase of an agile software development life cycle, including collecting requirements, suggesting methodologies and technologies, and delivery.
  • Build a mixed team of in-house and off / near-shore developers that are responsible for building, maintaining, and evolving reference implementation of (abstract) Enterprise Mobile , web and microservices Applications Patterns
Key Requirements / Technology Skills:
  • Extensive experience with iOS and Android development
  • NodeJS, Java/Kotlin, Objective-C, Swift
  • Experience working within environments that rely heavily on automation, CI, and CD concepts to rapidly deliver, measure, and iterate on products and features
  • JavaScript frameworks such as AngularJS, ReactJS, Vue.js
  • Experience with Agile / Scrum methods, practice, and ceremonies.
  • Ability to work through new and difficult framework issues and contribute to libraries as needed
  • Master's degree in Computer Science/equivalent or Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Experience leading and contributing to high-functional, large-scale architecture
  • Experience working with hybrid and cloud application stacks
  • Extensive experience with mobile application security and authentication methods / protocols
  • Someone who enjoys working in a brand new organization where you will have a key role in defining our processes/structure/framework
  • 6+ years general software development experience
  • Experience working within a service-oriented application platform
  • Hands on Mobile development experience (native, hybrid or browser-based, Android or iOS)
  • 2+ years as Tech Lead ( Mobile Development)
  • Passion for software development and working collaboratively with teams
  • Hybrid frameworks such as Cordova, React Native
  • GraphQL or RESTful web services and consuming APIs in a mobile interface
  • Experience leading remote teams as well as in-house mobile / full stack developers
Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $163,600.00 to $221,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
