Job Description

Lucas Group, a Korn Ferry company has partnered with our client on their search for Director, IT PMO


The Director, IT PMO reports to the Chief Administrative Officer and leads the overall technology project portfolio management. This includes management of IT project managers within the PMO and embedded within the IT department, managing larger, riskier, high profile and longer term IT projects; directing the implementation of standard project management tools and processes, ongoing portfolio prioritization and creating high level roll up/summary visuals for leadership on projects status involving or lead by IT. Most importantly, the Director, IT PMO will ensure the on-time delivery of all IT tasks related to growth projects.


This role is also responsible for facilitating the IT project intake process and leading projects through appropriate scoping and approval escalation by the IT steering committee. The Director, IT PMO will be responsible for leading IT Steering Committee calls and presenting a roll up of projects by stage gates highlighting status, risks or scope creep that may exist in key projects. An understanding of how IT initiatives tie to the overall business strategy will also be key in the prioritization process.


As a leader, the Director, IT PMO will also be responsible for the accountability, learning and development of IT project managers.


The Director, IT PMO also partners with our internal technology leaders to ensure key IT projects are identified and properly evaluated through a structured intake and approval process. This position is responsible for keeping track of all projects within the portfolio and regularly communicating with the IT team acting as a liaison between project management and day to day functional operations.


This position manages all due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions activities and coordinates with our Project Management team to ensure all clinics transition into the network and are able to effectively transition into our support organization.


The Director, IT PMO may also assist in the development and execution of strategy and tactical plans for Information Technology (IT) growth. This includes the review and transition of user desktop and operations support, overall strategy technical troubleshooting of infrastructure, network, data center management, servers, telecommunications, and customer service.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Partner with various internal and external departments to ensure effective teamwork.
  • Phones: Support phone system for remote clinics; Work with 3rd party provider to transition from old services and then to setup and install new phone services
  • Windows Administration: Administration and troubleshooting of Windows-based applications; Administration and troubleshooting of Window OS (Server and Desktop); Configuration and management of server roles (AD, DHCP, DNS, DFS, print and file server, terminal server); Setup and manage Group Policies and Security Groups; Setup and support for Cisco VPN tools – focused on the assessment of the acquisitions current operations to determine the target operating model for the transition
  • Provide proactive engagement and consultation to IT department directors with respect to department projects, project management needs, and project performance.
  • Develop and maintain an IT level project delivery schedule/Gantt chart and projected project activations.
  • Leadership and management of IT Project Management Office (PMO).
  • Lead monthly IT division-wide project review.
  • Coordinate and support IT project prioritization within the IT governance structure
  • Partner with IT Leadership and Project Management resources to identify the repeatable methodology of opening and acquiring new clinics
  • Participate on key IT Division leadership teams, including the IT Leadership Council and IT Change Approval Board.
  • Support new clinic openings; Low voltage installation guidance; occasional clinic turn-up including installation and setup of network equipment, phones (VOIP and wireless, occasionally POTS), computers, printers/copiers/scanners; occasional on-site clinic network and/or cabling troubleshooting
  • Extensive collaboration with other Administrative leaders (i.e. Compliance, Human Resources, and Revenue Cycle, etc.) to maintain alignment with technology and overall Practice strategy, as well as Integrations and Growth Strategy leaders to construct testing and implementation strategies and perform effective staff, infrastructure, and capability – In conjunction with M&A and new clinic activities
  • Perform project management on selected “high profile” project efforts. This can include: benefit/cost analysis, project charter development, stakeholder identification, project scope definition, integrated project plan development, project team development, project status monitoring and corrective actions, procurements/vendor performance, issue tracking, executive steering team leadership, and overall management and leadership of the project.
  • Participate as an IT senior leader in the development and implementation of the IT division strategic plan.
  • Supervision of dedicated project managers across the IT division
  • In partnership with the VP of Information Technology and CIO develop the Target Operating Model and supporting playbook allowing for practice growth and scalability with projects such as Asset Management initiatives, Provisioning/De-Provisioning of Practice Staff and Leadership, Single Sign-On, and Multi-Factor Authentication
  • Project Management of resources providing the following tactical activities:
  • Mentor and coach staff by identifying individual strengths and areas for development and implementing plans to ensure their continual growth
  • Microsoft Office 365: Assist users with issues associated with O365 applications as an escalation point for the MSP
  • Provide “dashboard” reports for executive management and other stakeholders.
  • Identify operational issues impacting service levels and streamline IT processes to provide real-time visibility into infrastructure performance


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent analytical, planning, project management, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Technically fluent and sound in architectural and operational concepts of cloud computing, IaaS, SaaS, networking, enterprise storage systems, backups, internet security, load balancing, directory services, application and infrastructure monitoring, virtualization, automation, databases, disaster recovery, high availability, scalability and web site performance management.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office365 and Microsoft Teams
  • Familiarity with Project Management software
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people, influence technical direction and successfully manage dozens of projects/priorities simultaneously is a must.
  • Excellent knowledge of product life cycle, tools, processes and operations planning
  • Demonstrated experience working with IT professionals on complex projects (Preferred some exposure to Mergers & Acquisitions)
  • Understanding of maturity model frameworks and process improvement metrics
  • Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills
  • IT strategic planning and development, project management, process improvement, and policy development


REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role supporting IT infrastructure and or network engineering
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology or equivalent experience
