Job Description
Summary: Prepares food according to planned menus and oversees staff as needed to ensure proper workflow
and attractive presentation of meals. Oversees all aspects of day-to-day operations in the food
service department.
Reports To: Food Service Director; Production Manager; Operations Manager
Supervises: Dietary aides and porters
Contacts: Staff, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and volunteers.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Directs, supervises, prepares and cooks meals according to menus in accordance with established procedures and time schedules.
  • Performs daily and periodic sanitation activities in accordance with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to employees and manages the work flow of dietary staff.
  • Responsible for ordering, receiving and storing all foods and supplies in accordance with planned meals, internal procedures and to maintain sanitary standards.
  • Contributes to the effective operations of the department by demonstrating dependability in job
Performance.
  • Demonstrates commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of United Methodist Homes
  • Collaborates with all staff to maintain the safety and security of all who reside, visit, or work in the
facility.
8. Must be available evenings and days, holiday and weekend rotation
