Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO)/Contractor Program Security Officer (CPSO)

Type of Travel: Continental US

Position requires experience across all security disciplines and government agencies with an emphasis on clearance processing and personnel security, communications security, classified information systems security and physical security. Coordinates and monitors highly sensitive aspects of the DOD, Intelligence Community, other industrial security programs and related security activities, ensuring compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the program liaison with Customers, communicating program needs, updates, and requirements. Fostering a positive and open relationship with the Customer through communication and in-person visits on-site.
  • Knowledge on COMSEC duties & responses.
  • Process, update and maintain subcontract DD254's
  • Understanding of physical accreditation process for collateral and Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) spaces.
  • Demonstrated expertise utilizing DISS.
  • Provide security indoctrinations, debriefings, and annual refresher trainings.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing classified visits to include passing visits via DISS or other customer specific procedures.
  • Processes incoming and outgoing classified documents and materials.
  • Conduct annual security self-reviews and follow up on corrective actions.
  • Provide guidance to employees and subcontractors regarding matters of program security to include classification determination and marking guidance.
  • Provide onsite security support activities in the areas of Program, Personnel, Physical, COMSEC and Information Security
  • Investigate security violations and prepare reports specifying preventive actions.
  • Knowledge of Tempest certification requirements
  • Protect classified government information and monitor security procedures, ensuring compliance with all aspects of the program including personnel, physical and administrative security systems and procedures.
  • Provide facility security support to include alarm checks, access controls, alarm response.
  • Develops and implements security procedures and coordinates revisions and updates as necessary.
  • Maintain security clearance records and processes security clearance documents for personnel requiring access under multiple government contracts and subcontracts.
  • Provide training and/or demonstrate familiarization with security related equipment.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Facility Security Officer Certification
  • Must have current TS clearance and ability to obtain and maintain SCI
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related work experience or equivalent

Profound understanding of the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency.In-depth knowledge of and demonstrated experience with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manuals (NISPOMs), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), (DoDM 5205.07, DoD Special Access Program Security Manual),and address security procedures pertaining to the following:

  • Security, Education, Training and Awareness (SETA)
  • Customer and team oriented and able to function with limited supervision.
  • Physical Security
  • Ability to work closely with government partners, security counterparts, program managers, and offices within the Intelligence Community and other defense industry partners to ensure successful execution of program activity.
  • Operations Security (OPSEC)
  • Information Assurance
  • Visitor Control
  • Document Control
  • Ability to work closely with internal cross-functional teams (Directors, Program Managers, Project Managers and Contracting Officers)
  • Personnel Security
  • Counterintelligence (CI) and Insider Threat Awareness

  • Emergency Procedures
