Contract No. P200.606 will consist of culvert repairs between Milepost 109 and 124 on the Garden State Parkway. The estimated duration for construction is 12 months.
The work to be performed under Contract No. P200.606 involves repair of four (4) culverts at Milepost (MP) 109.69 (existing 180" diameter CMP conveying Swimming River Tributary under the Garden State Parkway Northbound and Southbound Express and Local Roadways), MP 110.73N (existing 60" diameter CMP conveying stormwater under the Garden State Parkway Northbound Express and Local Roadways) and MP 110.77 (existing 180" diameter CMP conveying NUT Swamp Brook UNT Tributary under the Garden State Parkway Northbound and Southbound Express and Local Roadways) in Middletown Township, Monmouth County, and the culvert at MP 123.7S (existing 142" x 102" CMAP - downstream section, 12’x 6’ concrete box - middle section, conveying Crossway Creek under the Garden State Parkway Northbound Express and Local Roadways, and Ramps NOSA and NISA to the Jon Bon Jovi Service Area) in Sayreville Borough, Middlesex County, New Jersey.
The Milepost 109.69 and 110.77 repairs will involve lining the existing CMP with Steel Ribs and Pneumatically Applied Mortar. Milepost 123.7S repairs will involve lining the existing 142" x 102" CMAP with Steel Ribs and Pneumatically Applied Mortar. The Milepost 110.73N repairs will involve installing a new 60" diameter CCFRPM pipe encased in a 66” Steel casing under the GSP Northbound Express/Local Roadways using trenchless pipe installation, and abandoning in-place the existing CMP culvert by filling with controlled low strength material (CLSM).
The Contract also involves repairs of concrete headwalls, and reconstruction of existing storm drainage features in the vicinity of the culverts. Furthermore, the voids around the outside of the existing CMP and CMAP culverts shall be filled with polyurethane grout prior to lining or abandonment. Also, the downstream channel of some culverts will be modified. The Contract also involves stream diversion and traffic control on Authority Roadways.
