Overview:
The Construction Assistant is responsible for supporting the successful completion of construction projects in a timely and efficient manner. This is accomplished by completing necessary jobsite tasks to support the construction schedule and subcontractors as directed by the site superintendent. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently and flexibly, responding to the superintendent’s needs across a broad range of jobsite activities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Clean construction areas, buildings, and units as necessary (trash hauling, sweeping, pressure-washing, etc.)
  • Assists with the inspection of jobsite apartments to ensure proper workmanship quality and standards are achieved and sustained
  • Complete building construction tasks as needed, such as installing foundation insulation, installing rain drains, preparing building pads for slab install, etc.
  • Complete sitework tasks as needed, such as pumping water, digging trenches, managing temporary power supplies, organizing and stacking materials, etc.
  • Follow all jobsite safety best practices to comply with all health, safety and OSHA programs, policies, and procedures, including the safe operation of tools and equipment
  • Responsible for detailed punch list completion of buildings and apartments, including painting, limited carpentry, drywall patch/repair, appliance maintenance, and completion of a detailed make ready checklist
  • Compliance and attention to company policy while maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Participates in training workshops and safety meetings as necessary
  • Responds to additional tasks as set forth by Site Superintendent or other management
  • Keeps storage areas, tools, and equipment secure at all times
Skills/Abilities:
  • 1-3 years relevant jobsite experience required
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 75 lbs. and work 8-12 hour standing shifts • Must be able to work some weekends as necessary
  • Ability to pass an illegal drug screening and background check
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
