POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for an extraordinary and highly motivated senior leader to develop the vision and lead, inspire and drive excellence within our Commercial Finance Organization. The Director, Commercial Finance, US, Abiomed will work in close collaboration with our US Sales & Sales Operations, Global Healthcare Solutions, and upstream marketing. This position will report directly to the CFO and be part of the Abiomed Finance Leadership Team, as well as a member of the respective functional LTs.

The Commercial Finance Director will provide financial and business leadership to drive both the short-and long-term strategies for the US Sales and Global Marketing organizations. This critical role will help to support our growth acceleration plans across the US based commercial teams, directly support US sales forecasting, consolidate global sales forecasting, oversee US sales commissions / variable compensation plan design, partner with sales ops on sales analytics, and work with our leaders support regional and global marketing.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure SOX controls and GAAP compliance standards are fully met for all processes.
  • Direct oversight for P&L/BS for US Selling expenses, commissions, global healthcare solutions and upstream marketing.
  • Ownership of sales reporting including, daily sales report, patient reports and migration to JnJ reporting.
  • Partner with sales operations on design, execution and tracking of US variable compensation plans.
  • Encourage participation and adoption of various Corporate, Enterprise and MedTech Finance initiatives (e.g., Credo Survey Actions, SigniFi / TranSCend ERP system / process improvements, etc.)
  • In partnership with global marketing and BD own Long Range Financial Plan (LRFP) forecasting/market model for sales and market share, including driving process as part of integration into JnJ systems and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee IR quarterly reporting and ad-hoc requests.
  • Responsible for US Sales forecast and consolidations of global sales forecasts, in partnership with EU/AP colleagues for all forecast and planning cycles.
  • Function as Chair for Commercial Pricing Committee (CPC), including formation, scheduling and approvals.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated track record in working in a cross-functional, matrixed environment is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively influence and shape senior level business decisions.
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience within the Healthcare industry.
  • Prior experience in commercial finance and sales commissions, preferred.
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Prior people leadership experience is required.
  • Prior experience in MedTech is preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently and appropriately plan, prioritize, and communicate progress on multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Should possess sophisticated business intuition, including the passion to develop business cases and implement strategies as well as the ability to think about the broader J&J business, and lead through ambiguity to deliver core operational results aligned to business objectives.
  • Proficiency to network, collaborate and generate consensus effectively in a complex environment, possessing strong social skills, promoting inclusion, and building trusting relationships with business partners across all cultures and levels of the organization.
  • Should demonstrate big picture thinking while balancing with appropriate attention to detail, confidentiality, accuracy, and sound judgment in delivering business outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a global and enterprise-wide mindset.
