Hiring Range: $56,168 - $70,203

  • This position may underfill as a Collateral Valuation Analyst I if the applicant pool dictates.

**Remote work is an option, however the candidate needs to be a resident and reside in the State of North Dakota

Summary of Work


This position is responsible for the following:

  • Collect, investigate, document, and maintain comparable sales information.
  • Photograph and document building measurements and dimensions, building construction style and materials, timelines of construction and updates, property condition, and other factors that influence value.
  • Perform other duties as assigned such as special projects.
  • Provide collateral valuation services to include preparation of internal evaluations, appraisal reviews of certified appraisals, and independent validations of an internal evaluations.
  • Complete collateral evaluations for agricultural and commercial real estate, as well as prepare chattel evaluations on equipment, machinery, and aircraft, etc.
  • Conduct on-site inspections of commercial and agricultural property improvements to support collateral valuation services.

The qualified candidate will represent and communicate the mission and values of Bank of North Dakota and comply with its conduct policy, security policy and confidentiality expectations. This position reports to the Collateral Valuation Manager.


Minimum Qualifications


This position requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. An appropriate professional designation, or a background in real estate valuation may substitute for the education requirement. Experience as an apprentice to an appraiser, or bank/credit union employee or independent contractor working on behalf of a financial institution with some duties in collateral valuation is preferred but not required. Experience in credit analysis, agricultural economics, financial analysis, or accounting is also preferred but not required. Applicant must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, use sound judgment, and be a self-starter. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office products. Applicant must also be able to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing. This position will also conduct site inspections independently on a variety of property types, terrains, and weather conditions. Site inspections are time sensitive and can occur year-round. Travel up to 75% with some overnights is expected.
