Your Role and Responsibilities

Are you a technologist that can modernize the enterprise in a cloud native way? Can you create and support reproducible Infrastructure as Code (IAC) solutions and scripts to modernize the enterprise? Are you interested in contributing to a team focused on Azure Cloud Platform engineering and helping customers pivot their existing data center solutions to AZURE? If so, we'd love to hear from you! Kyndryl is looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer for our Cloud Practice to provide infrastructure, migration, security, and reliability deployment, support, and solutioning.
Core responsibilities:

  • Drive innovation by automating infrastructure via your hands-on expertise with IAC (Terraform and / or Azure Resource Manager).
  • Operational – Web site/services operations, management, and security
  • Customize solutions using your Python, PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting language capabilities.
  • Participate in evaluation of supporting technologies and industry best practices with our cloud partners and peer teams.
  • Assist in the design of the to-be state. Evaluate the full technology stack of services required including PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, DevSecOps, operations, availability, and automation
  • Research, design, and develop Public & Private Cloud Solutions.
  • Lead Cloud Solution and Sizing efforts to create defined plans and work estimates for customer proposals and Statements of work.
  • The Azure Cloud Platform (AZURE) Engineer is responsible for the design, delivery, and implementation of Cloud Native solutions
  • Work with Sales teams to identify and qualify opportunities hosted by Azure Cloud Platform
  • Technical – Experience Designing, Developing, Deploying and/or Migrating to AZURE Cloud environments
  • Lead client discovery to identify business and technical requirements and identify risk or potential issues. Document the full as-is state of the environment.
  • Lead the discussions of cloud concepts as it relates to Kyndryl’s Cloud methodology so that clear offerings are developed and implemented with focus on success.
Day-to-Day activities
  • Designing solutions via IAC to meet the needs and business goals of customers
  • Contribute where you time is most needed and provides the most benefit
  • Stay Current with technology, Kyndryl abilities, and market trends
  • Write scripts to customize solutions and achieve operation efficiency.
  • Mentor and assist team members with Knowledge transfer and technical leadership
  • Provide technical leadership specific to AZURE services and solutions design.

The Cloud Engineer is an exemplary technologist that provides deep experience, hands-on skills, and technical insight which are among the best in the industry. This role is crucial to realizing cutting edge Hybrid and Multi solutions for clients worldwide specially using technologies from leading Cloud service Providers such as Azure, GCP and AWS. The role would involve working with highly skilled infrastructure architects to develop and execute complex solutions for Kyndryl clients worldwide. The candidate will prioritize creating reusable assets that may eventually be leveraged by the wider Kyndryl audience.
If you are hired, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $89,030 to $203,000 based on a full-time schedule. Your ultimate compensation may vary depending on your geography, job-related skills and experience. For part time roles, the compensation will be adjusted appropriately.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Coding / scripting experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash, go…)
  • Proficiency in IAC development (i.e. Terraform, ARM, etc.)
  • Must have experience driving engineering solutions and working across teams
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Experience securely connecting public cloud resources with on-premises resources
  • Configuration Management experience (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.)
  • Highly skilled in creating and developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts utilizing industry standard tools (Example: Terraform, Azure Resource Manager etc.) to provision and manage infrastructure. Able to demonstrate this scripting knowledge during a Technical Interview.
  • In depth knowledge of Azure cloud services; additional hyperscale experience favored
  • Azure based Cloud deployment, support, and migration skills and experience
  • Strong understanding across Cloud and infrastructure components (server, storage, network, security, data, and applications) to deliver end to end Cloud Infrastructure solutions and support.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, immutable infrastructure, automation, and orchestration and other modern DevOps patterns
  • Deep understanding of Azure Active Directory and ADFS
  • Familiarity with design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • In depth knowledge of Linux and / or Windows Operating Systems
  • Exceptional judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Experience with system development in cloud environments, including Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure as Service (IaaS)

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

  • Strong process improvement experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • 5+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
  • 7+ years enterprise IT application experience
  • Role as AZURE Engineer and SME in multiple projects.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in at least one of the following: software development, DevOps engineering, systems administration, or systems engineering in public cloud AZURE domain.
  • Experience assisting with the design of Cloud foundation capabilities, shared services, associated guardrails, and governance
