Chief Human Resources Officer Summary
This role is responsible for driving development and strategies of Human Resources operations, total rewards, talent management, employee training, and organization design. The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. He or she is skilled in writing, presenting, and reporting data to a review board. The right candidate has a working knowledge of computers and programs such as Microsoft Office and HRIS tools and systems. He or she has strong leadership skills and can work independently. The right person must possess innovative, strategic planning, and C-suite navigation skills. Experience in the public and private sector, and leading human resources through a merger is highly desired.
Chief Human Resources Officer Responsibilities
- Develop an effective performance management method.
- Direct and inform business intelligence reporting.
- Partner with stakeholders to complete and maintain effective succession planning for business continuity.
- Direct all total rewards programs to include proactive compensation and benefits program that motivate valued behaviors.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate the company's human resources education and training strategic plans and outcomes.
- Direct staffing sourcing and retention strategies and work to position the company as an employer of choice.
- Direct the design and strategy of training across the company, and direct development of training models.
- Develop employee engagement strategies.
- Consult on employee relations strategies with stakeholders and perform root cause analysis.
- Evaluate organizational structure to include department, positions, and job banding.
- Implement and oversee the HRIS system.
- Develop and maintain compliance with Human Resources policies.
- Enhance, develop, implement, and enforce HR policies and procedures of the company.
- Direct, coach, and develop Human Resources staff to develop high-performing talent.
- Represent the company at community and business forums as needed.
- Develop and deliver strategies which support the organization's mobile-based and office-based staff.
- Provide an accurate annual salary plan to state office of personnel.
- Manage the human resource information systems database and provide necessary reports.
- Develop the leadership-level training curriculum for key executives.
- Oversee the employee performance and discipline process.
- Direct effective third-party relationship management, and source and negotiate with the third parties.
- Develop a leadership framework that encompasses the company's mission and values.
- Provide leadership for employee matters and stay up to date with regulatory changes in employment and healthcare.
- Deliver employee communications with Corporate Communications.
- Leverage cost-effective technology strategies that support the delivery of functions.
Education And Experience
- Fifteen years experience with at least seven years supervising and developing HR staff talent
- Senior-level SPHR or SCP certifications highly desired
- MBA or Master's degree in Human Resources is required OR Bachelor's degree with senior-level HR experience
