Job Description
Basic Job Function:Effectively lead and supervise operations within the Guest Services department, with specific focus and responsibility for the related areas Cloister Hotel Bell Stand, Door Person and Valet. Promote Sea Island hospitality and ensure Five Star standards are achieved on a daily basis. Greet, escort and accommodate Cloister Hotel guest and ensure that the guests’ needs are satisfied. Promote the Sea Island legacy of warm genuine hospitality while upholding and ensuring compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures.Use of Company Vehicle: Designated to drive a company vehicle.Minimum Requirements: Two (2) years previous hospitality experience as Front Office Receptionist or Guest Services at a luxury hotel or resort preferredExperience working for a Five Star property preferredMust have High School Diploma or equivalent credentialsExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalMust have a favorable driving historyValid Georgia Driver’s LicenseCompany policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to drive a company vehicle and pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) reviewProficient with peripherals, copier, fax, telephone and calculator Consistently aspires to fulfill our core Company values (Respect, Integrity, Passion, Teamwork, Accountability, Caring, Loyalty & Trust)Exhibits the Sea Island Five-Star Behavior Standards with guests, members and co-workers Must possess a positive attitude and have the ability to work with a variety of people and in cooperation with coworkers efficiently and effectivelyMust be detail oriented and able to manage competing priorities and multiple deadlines in a fast paced environmentAbility to easily adapt to organizational and environmental changesMust be flexible to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysReport to work at the scheduled time, neatly groomed and in compliance with company Dress Code Policy Tasks/Responsibilities: Supervise all Bell Person, Door Person, and ValetWeekly scheduling as it pertains to Bell Person, Door Person, ValetEscort incoming hotel guests to Front DeskAssist the guests with luggage and personal belongingsWhen checking a guest into a room, beware of the condition of the room ensuring it is adequately supplied and in orderExplain features of the room such as location of Honor Bar, location of compendium, how to use the WiFI, etc.Understand and follows the standards for the in-room check in/out processLocate guests in lobby, dining room or other parts of the hotel as neededDeliver messages and complete task assigned by the Guest Services ManagerPicks up articles for laundry or shine shoes when askedTransport guests about premises in cars or golf cartsKeep record of calls for service and who performed the serviceAssist in delivering luggage, golf clubs or other articles needed to be moved for guestsLearn the names and personally recognize our regular Guests and MembersFrequent use of guest’s names during conversationDirect and lead guests to the appropriate locationsRespond to all guest requests and follow through to assure satisfactory outcome and complianceMaintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one’s abilityIf applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areasUphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timingUphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and proceduresReport all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediatelyAttends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvementWilling and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership Physical Requirements: Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periodsIf applicable, must have the ability to work for extended time periods in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levelsAbility to perform repetitive tasks with accuracyAbility to lift, carry, pull and push up to 50 lbs intermittently throughout a shiftAbility to read, write and communicate effectively in English, both written and verbalMay be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical and fume hazardsNo visible tattoos, visible body piercing or unnatural hair color or hairstyles per company grooming standards
