HII Mission Technologies is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud/DevOps Engineer to join our CounterMeasures team. As an expert in AWS Cloud Infrastructure and DevSecOps, you will collaborate with our engineering team to design and implement optimal cloud-based solutions for our products. Your role will involve defining and documenting execution plans for cloud deployments, fostering the development of cloud competencies within the team, and ensuring high standards for code quality. You will also be responsible for managing cloud environments in accordance with HII company guidelines, building and managing highly scalable and secured architectures, and developing applications optimized for cloud environments following AWS best practices.

This is a hybrid opportunity with 3 days onsite (Kingstowne, Alexandria, VA) and 2 days remote.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure and DevSecOps:
  • Build, design, implement, and refine cloud architectures, providing prescriptive guidance across the network and security.
  • Understand and determine sizing, capacity planning, and requirements for infrastructure, network, and security in the cloud offering.
  • Collaborate with the Accreditation Manager to accredit applications on unclassified and classified networks.
  • Apply a security-first approach to all cloud development, minimizing risk while providing highly complex cloud technology solutions to meet company, program, and customer compliance needs.
  • Develop and document frameworks for integration and implementation of cloud systems.
  • Enhance and optimize Development Security Operations (DevSecOps) processes.
  • Administer company and client cloud environments on AWS, monitoring and making recommendations regarding AWS configuration costs.
  • Deploy and maintain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes and infrastructure.
  • Identify and mitigate technology risks, and develop architectures to support processes.
Cloud Development and Management:
  • Evaluate and recommend emerging technologies relevant to our cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop applications optimized for cloud environments following AWS best practices.
  • Implement and manage databases optimized for cloud environments.
  • Monitor cloud management and data storage services.
  • Design, build, and manage highly scalable and secured architectures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • One or more AWS certifications, preferably AWS Solution Architect Associate or Professional.
  • Strong experience with at least one of the following database technologies: MSSQL, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • 8-10 years of relevant technical experience, with at least 5 years working with AWS.
  • Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Proficiency in AWS Cloud, automation, Architecture design, and implementation.
  • Proficient in Docker containerization.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills, particularly with Python.

Clearance requirements:

US Citizenship is required with active Secret clearance OR ability to obtain a clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Familiarity with web services, APIs,API gateway, REST, and RPC.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience writing IaC using CloudFormation, Terraform, or any other relevant tools.
  • Experience with AWS CI/CD tool suite.
  • Experience configuring and managing AWS Single Sign-On (SSO).
  • We are open to using Terraform, AWS CDK, and other relevant tools for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Experience automating and building event-driven applications using tools such as Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and/or Cognito.
  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in computer science, information technology, or mathematics.
  • Experience working with native AWS monitoring tools such as CloudWatch, CloudTrail, GuardDuty, and SecurityHub.
