Job Description

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) Tutor implements individual curriculum and behavioral treatment to at least 4 preschool children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) under direct supervision of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA); records accurate data regarding child's skill acquisition and target behaviors; maintains curriculum materials.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

1. Participates in implementation of intervention techniques as outlined by curriculum and behavioral intervention plans under direct supervision of the TLF HOPE Center Clinical Manager.

2. Records accurate data regarding child's acquisition of skills and other target behaviors; maintains generalization data for previously acquired skills; creates and maintains behavioral graphs. Completes treatment notes daily and reviews with parents.

3. Assists Clinical Manager during parent consultation and parent training sessions by demonstrating behavioral procedures to parents, and assisting with appropriate communication with parents.

4. Assists in training of practicum students (via modeling, as well as verbal and written feedback).

5. Assists in the maintenance of curriculum materials (e.g., curriculum binder, data sheets, program specific stimuli, student specific materials etc.); additional maintenance activities necessary to ensure clean and safe treatment area for patients.

STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS

A. Education / Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology or related field; basic knowledge of ABA and experience implementing ABA techniques highly preferred.

B. Work Experience:

  • Previous ABA experience preferred. Experience working with preschool-aged children highly preferred.

C. Certification, Licensure, Registration:

  • None

D. Other Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational and social skills; able to interact appropriately with young developmentally delayed children and manage numerous tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment; able to interact with parents, staff, and school personnel in a professional manner. Ability to mentor, to recognize own limitations, give and receive feedback appropriately, and train others to implement curriculum and behavioral interventions as directed by Clinical Manager.
